Profile

Dr Matthew Alfredson is an Australian educated and trained specialist orthopaedic surgeon who performs lower limb surgery. He is committed to providing the highest quality of care for patients with orthopaedic conditions.

With a fellowship in hip and knee arthroplasty, Dr Alfredson brings extensive lower limb reconstruction expertise to the Orthopaedic Clinics Gold Coast team.

He is a meticulous surgeon with expert precision and technique who carefully delivers reproducible patient outcomes, under a holistic management plan, and with a caring and compassionate manner.

Dr Alfredson is a strong proponent of cutting-edge techniques, including minimally invasive surgery and a bone-preserving approach to hip replacement surgery.

He also has a high level of expertise in the management of trauma conditions. His ability to manage complex joint trauma and reconstruction has generated much acclaim and is a contributing factor to his growing cohort of younger patients with hip injuries.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Alfredson has developed and maintained a commitment to teaching the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons. He is the Director of Training at Gold Coast University Hospital for orthopaedic trainees, including international fellows, junior doctors and medical students.

When Dr Alfredson is not consulting or operating at PIndara Private Hospital, Gold Coast Private Hospital, Gold Coast University Hospital and Robina Hospital, he and his wife are busy taking care of their four active, beach-loving kids.
