Associate Professor Mahesh Jayaram trained initially in London and Leeds (UK) and completed his Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2004. He then worked as a consultant in the NHS for 7 years prior to moving to Melbourne in 2013 and obtained his Fellowship with RANZCP. In addition to his clinical role, he works as Senior Lecturer in Psychiatry at the University of Melbourne where he is the coordinator for all Graduate Courses within the Department of Psychiatry.
Associate Professor Jayaram is a Psychiatrist with an interest in Adult (general), schizophrenia, mood disorders, addictions, anxiety disorders, PTSD, OCD, sleep disorders and psychosexual disorders. He has published numerous papers in scientific journals and authored book chapters. His research interests relate to treatments for schizophrenia, Cochrane systematic reviews and evidence based treatments.
