A/Prof Kasinathan is a Psychiatrist and is experienced in providing psychiatric assessment and treatment for children, adolescents and adults. Where required, an inpatient service is offered at Ramsay Clinic Northside where A/Prof Kasinathan is the Medical Director of the Adolescent and Young Adult Service.

A/Prof Kasinathan graduated with first class honours in Medicine from the University of Sydney. He is both a child and forensic psychiatrist: a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) with certification in forensic psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry. Apart from private psychiatric practice, his appointments are with NSW Justice Health, as Clinical Director for Adolescent Mental Health. He was previously clinical leader for the high-secure Adolescent Unit in the Forensic Hospital, the only unit of its kind in Australia. For a decade he was the senior forensic psychiatrist to Canberra’s only youth justice centre and forensic mental health service.

A/Prof Kasinathan has authored journal articles and a textbook chapter on forensic, child and adolescent psychiatry. His academic appointment is Conjoint Associate Professor with the School of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine, University of NSW.

A/Prof Kasinathan provides forensic psychiatric assessments and reports for adults, children, adolescents and families.
