Dr Claire Wise received her medical degree with honours from Monash University. She also completed a Bachelor of Medical Science with honours in the field of psycho-oncology, which lead to a placement at Memorial Sloane Kettering Cancer Centre in New York City, working with the consultation liaison psychiatry team in psycho-oncology.
Dr Wise completed a Masters of Psychiatry through the University of Melbourne and completed her College Fellowship training at the Alfred Hospital and Caulfield Hospital. She is currently completing an advanced certificate in Old Age Psychiatry. In 2019 she received the Maddison Medallion, the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists' annual award recognising the psychiatrist with the most meritorious performance through the Fellowship examination and training process.
Dr Wise holds a public appointment with the Caulfield Aged and Liaison Psychiatry Service, working in the inpatient unit, and is also a principal investigator with the Monash Alfred Psychiatry Research Centre, working in clinical trials for mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer's disease. Dr Wise is an associate lecturer with Monash University and enjoys teaching medical students and junior doctors. She has several years' experience working in the Caulfield Hospital CDAMS clinic in the assessment and diagnosis of cognitive disorders. Dr Wise is passionate about the mental health care of older patients. She enjoys working collaboratively with patients and their families to achieve excellent outcomes via evidence-based practice.
