We understand that coming into one of our clinics can be an apprehensive time, our role is to ensure that your stay with us is comfortable, safe and rewarding. Helping you recover from mental illness is the heart of what we do.
The Northside Group Admission Coordinators are experienced mental health clinicians who are available to discuss your particular needs and can advise you of the treatment options available. The Northside Group clinics are voluntary facilities, therefore it is necessary for the admission staff to speak to each patient prior to being admitted into one of our clinics as certain exclusion criteria may apply. They will also be able to check your health insurance and advise you of any out of pocket expenses. If you do not have health insurance they will be able to advise you of the cost. All admissions must be supported by a referral from your GP or psychiatrist.
Once you have been given a date for admission to a Northside Group Clinic it is also important that you read the Privacy Policy.
You will feel most comfortable wearing casual clothing around our clinic during the day and you will also require night attire, toiletries and other personal items. For safety purposes, covered shoes should be worn at all times and, if planning to go for walks it is recommended that suitable footwear and clothing be worn.
It is recommended that you do not bring any valuables such as large amounts of money, jewellery or expensive appliances to the clinic. You might however, like to bring an iPad or similar device with headphones. Please clearly label your belongings. Each room is fitted with a television for your personal viewing.
On arrival you will be greeted by our friendly reception staff who will assist you in completing any remaining paper work you may have.
At reception you will be greeted by a member of your nursing team who will join you in a walk around the clinic, ensuring that you are able to find your way around easily. Once you are comfortable and settled within your room, our nursing team will then take you through a number of formalities designed to find out your recovery intentions and goals for your stay.
Our aim is to make you feel as comfortable as we can, we want you to feel at home and relaxed during your stay.
