Going Home

This information provides an overview of what to expect when you are preparing to leave the hospital and go home after your stay.

Before Discharge:

• You will be informed of your discharge date by the staff caring for you.
• Discuss any potential problems with discharge with the staff as soon as possible.
• Continued support options at home may be available, including ongoing care with your psychiatrist and group therapy programs.

On Discharge Day:

• Your nurse will provide you with:
• Medication and prescriptions
• Discharge questionnaires
• Patient satisfaction questionnaire
• Settle any outstanding hospital accounts before leaving.
• You may receive separate bills from your psychiatrist, pathology, or pharmacy services.

Transportation:

• The hospital staff can help arrange transportation if needed.

Additional Notes:

• Accepted payment methods for hospital accounts include cash, cheque, credit card, and EFTPOS.
